Age Requirement

Amatory is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use this app or provide any information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address, password (encrypted), and date of birth
• Profile Information: Display name, profile picture (optional)
• Relationship Data: Partner linking information via invite codes
• Encounter Data: Dates, times, locations, notes, types, tags, and ratings you create
• Photos: Images you upload, which may include metadata (we automatically strip EXIF data including GPS coordinates for your privacy)
• User-Generated Content: Any text, notes, or descriptions you create

Permissions and Device Access

• Camera Access: Used to scan partner invite QR codes and to let you take photos for upload. QR scan frames are processed on your device and are not stored unless you choose to upload a photo.
• Photos and Media Access: Used only when you choose images to upload to your account. We automatically strip EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates, before storage.

Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
• Usage Data: App feature usage, session duration, crash reports
• Log Data: IP address, access times, app version

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Amatory app
• Enable you to connect with your partner and share experiences
• Store and display your encounters, photos, and relationship timeline
• Scan partner invite QR codes when you choose to use QR linking
• Generate insights and statistics about your relationship
• Send you important updates about the app or your account
• Respond to your support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

Data Storage and Security

Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a secure cloud database platform. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest using industry-standard encryption.

Security Measures

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
• EXIF metadata (including GPS coordinates) is automatically stripped from photos
• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure you can only access your own couple's data
• Rate limiting protects against brute force attacks
• Regular security audits and updates

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Who We Share With

• Your Partner: When you link with a partner, they can view all encounters, photos, and data within your shared couple account
• Service Providers: We use Supabase for hosting and storage. They have access to data only to perform services on our behalf and are obligated to protect it
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request

Who We DON'T Share With

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties
• We do not share your intimate data with advertisers or marketing companies
• We do not use your data for targeted advertising

Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we have about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export: Download your data in a portable JSON format
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from non-essential communications

• Account Deletion: Use the "Delete My Account" button in Settings

Data Retention

• Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active
• Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it
• Backups: Deleted data may remain in backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion

NSFW Content

Amatory allows users to mark photos as "spicy" (NSFW). These photos:

• Are clearly flagged in our system
• Can be filtered from view using in-app controls
• Are still subject to our Terms of Service (no illegal content)
• Are stored with the same security measures as all other data

You are responsible for ensuring any content you upload complies with applicable laws.

Children's Privacy

Amatory is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it immediately.

International Users

Amatory is hosted in the United States. If you use Amatory from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US. By using Amatory, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending you an email notification (for material changes)

Your continued use of Amatory after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
